Ms. Maggie
Maggie was born and raised in Charlottesville. She attended St. Annes Belfield from Preschool through high school graduation. She attended Lynchburg College where she received a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies. After graduating college she moved to Northern Virginia and worked at a marketing firm for a few years before returning to Charlottesville to take Early Childhood classes at Piedmont Virginia Community College. While taking classes, she began working as a three year old teacher at Bright Beginnings at Forest Lakes. After a year of teaching, she became the Director at Forest Lakes. She directed for a 3 years before leaving to Open and Direct the Rivanna Station Child Development Center right up the road from Forest Lakes. She worked as the Director for four years during which she led them through the National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation process. She returned to Bright Beginnings as part of the administrative team in early 2018 and now serves as the Mill Creek Director.
Ms. Nancy
Nancy graduated from Louisa County High School and attended Piedmont Virginia Community College, CATEC of Charlottesville as well as National Business College. Nancy is a natural nurturer and worked as an elderly caregiver at the Colonnades Retirement Home for many years before pursuing a career in early childhood education. Nancy has over 10 years experience teaching preschool, specializing in infants, toddlers and twos.
Ms. Nancy has been with our Bright Beginnings family since 2011. She has taught infants, toddlers and twos and served as Assistant Director and Opening Supervisor at Mill Creek. She is always requested by parents for her calm and nurturing demeanor. Ms. Nancy is the go to person at Bright Beginnings in the early mornings! She wears a lot of hats at Bright Beginnings including supervising inventory and supplies, cooking and baking and moving from one location to another as needed to fill in for directors.
