Words carry an immense amount of power and weight among us all as human beings. For young children, this power is intensified as these little potatoes hold and cling on to each and every word that we say. The words that we say and the way that we say them carry the power to shape and construct the way our children view the world. They also have the ability to control how they behave in the world even into adulthood. For example, a child who was discouraged for artistic activities and even told that their products “aren’t good enough” may grow into an adult who detests all things art because of that little sting in his heart of the failure that they felt as a child.
